Anniversary Progress

Welcome back to Project KSX.org, my little corner of the Internet! Over the coming weeks/months, a lot of my older fansites will be brought back online in an archived form, meaning they'll no longer be updated. "Why would you do that," you ask? Simple. I've been online since 1998, and I want to take a long, hard look at how I've evolved in my webdesign skills over the years, starting out at GeoCities on the Basic HTML Editor to doing my own coding for things now. (This layout was revived from the original 'LunarWolf.net' look by way of the Internet Archive. In fact, it's not up on Best-Templates anymore, but I left the link because that's where this design originated.)

"What's the difference between Fansite Archive and Fansite Museum?"
That's a very good question! The 'Archive' websites are sites that I've kept all of the coding and content for through the years, and can easily put back online with little problem. The 'Museum' websites are sites that I've rescued from the Wayback Machine, having been archived there (to varying degrees of completion, from hardly-anything to nearly-complete). Since museums store artifacts, I'm dubbing the incomplete sites to be part of our 'museum.'

"But, Chyler Leigh was never a Power Ranger..."
This is true. Her brother, Christopher Khayman Lee, did play Andros, the Red Space Ranger. As things progressed, I took over work on a fansite of hers from an online friend. Over time, Chyler's site was responsible for multiple daily shutdowns of the Tripod account it was co-housed on because it got so much traffic. I moved it to its own server (chyler-leigh.org), and it grew to be my most popular fansite to date. I wish I'd kept it going, because it'd probably be nearly official by this point. I think it had topped off at 170,000 hits when I killed it in either 2001 or 2002. I know the traffic increased after "Not Another Teen Movie" came out. I'm not sure why I killed it off, but, as luck would have it, it's 99.5% archived, so I'm bringing it back! (I can't get the name. It belongs to someone in Japan, who, I think, is blogging about the Toyota Prius. Yeah, I don't get it, either...)

"What happened in 2002?"
The short answer: A lot of stupid drama that I got caught up in. Looking back, I could have handled it better than I did. Alas, I'm wiser now than I was back then. I can't change the past, but I can try to resuscitate what I had going on before that fateful Summer.

"Okay, that was 2002. Explain the whole "k-t-b/tripod" thing over there."
Prior to the paid-hosting, I had an account on Tripod's servers. At the time, my two favorite radio stations were KISS 104.9 and 92.3 The Beat, which, in retrospect, were polar opposites of each other, with 104.9 being top-40 and 92.3 being "jammin' oldies" (read: disco!). I, in all of my creativity, took the names of those stations and smashed them together to create the account name 'kissthebeat' to use at Tripod. I don't know what used to be hosted there, because the earliest archived version is something along the lines of "12/31/01, we're outta here!" (That's probably when I christened the paid-hosting space. Honestly, I have no idea.) Upon checking a further archive, I found a redirect page set up that took you to either the O-Town stuff or to the Power Rangers stuff. The archive was from 2002. IT'S STILL THERE. TEN YEARS LATER. I had to archive it, just for posterity. Still, IT'S STILL THERE.
